Estimation of the flow motion in SSFP images using moving shadows; reliable or not?

چکیده
Background SSFP plays an important role in cardiovascular MRI due to its high speed and unrivaled contrast between blood and myocardium. Some “flow artifacts”, however, rises because blood flow prevents spins from reaching the steady state. One artifact in this category is the moving shadows in the blood pool that appear to represent the actual flow behavior. In this study, we show that the shadows are not necessarily representing actual flow behavior. Therefore, cardiologists should consider the moving shadows cautiously to avoid misinterpretations.

Removing car shadows in video images using entropy and Euclidean distance features
Detecting car motion in video frames is one of the key subjects in computer vision society. In recent years, different approaches have been proposed to address this issue. One of the main challenges of developed image processing systems for car detection is their shadows. Car shadows change the appearance of them in a way that they might seem stitched to other neighboring cars. This study aims ...

Oceanographic images obtained from environmental satellites by a wide range of sensors allow characterizing natural phenomena through different physical measurements. For instance Sea Surface Temperature (SST) images, altimetry data and ocean color data can be used for characterizing currents and vortex structures in the ocean. The purpose of this thesis is to derive a relatively complete frame...

The idea of Fixation introduced a direct method for general recovery of shape and motion from images without using either feature correspondence or optical flow [1,2]. There are some parameters which have important effects on the performance of fixation method. However, the theory of fixation does not say anything about the autonomous and correct choice of those parameters. This paper presents ...
متن کامل2d Shape Estimation for Moving Objects Considering a Moving Camera and Cast Shadows
The estimation of the 2D shape of moving objects in a video image sequence is required for many applications, e.g. for so-called content-based functionalities of ISO/MPEG-4, for object-based coding, and for automatic surveillance. Many real sequences are taken by a moving camera and show moving objects as well as their cast shadows. In this paper, an algorithm for 2D shape estimation for moving...
متن کاملMulti-Resolution Estimation of Optical Flow for Vehicle Tracking
This paper presents a hierarchical multi-resolution estimation of optical flow for a vehicle tracking system which can be used in a practical environment. Aiming at accurate estimation of optical flow, we construct a strong feature tracking system based on the Shi-Tomasi approach. As a feature detector, we use a Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm, which not only firmly focuses o...
